What Work Benefits Do Millennials Want If you want to attract and retain the top talent on the market, as an employer its important that you stand out from your competitors. You can do this by building an exceptional employer brand, that really sells your company culture and the success of your business; or you can offer employee perks and benefits, that set you out from the crowd and boost employee satisfaction. Theres so much more to a job than the responsibilities and functions of the role, and considering the amount of time that professionals spend at work, they want to feel content in their job and valued by their employers. Millennials currently make up a large portion of the workforce and are some of the most sought after candidates, so employers should be striving to attract these individuals. So what employee perks do they value the most? Forbes have released a ranking of some of the top working benefits that millennials look for in a job. 1) Training and development Personal development and the opportunity to progress in their career is the top factor that millennials look for when seeking a new job, so by offering training and the scope for promotion, the top candidates are more likely to join your company. 2) Flexible working hours Millennials dont like to feel restricted by their working hours and maintaining a good personal life outside of their jobs is of high importance. Offering flexible working hours is a desirable perk, as it allows employees to keep up hobbies and spend time with friends and families, without feeling chained to their desk. The option of working remotely is also something that a lot of millennials look for, with the progression of technology making it easier to work from home than ever before. 3) Cash bonuses The opportunity to earn a bonus on top of their salary is a great incentive to entice candidates to the company and encourage them to meet targets. As well as offering bonus schemes, a lot of employers also offer significant discounts off of their goods and services. 4) Free private healthcare A healthy workforce, is a happy workforce. Employees want to feel like their employers care about their wellbeing and by offering healthcare or gym memberships to help them stay fit and healthy, they are more likely to stay at the company. 5) Pension scheme Employees of all ages think about their future and want to feel like they are in a good financial position when the time comes to retire. Providing them with a pension scheme will help them to feel supported and on track with their savings throughout their career. 6) Greater vacation allowance Traditionally, employers offer their staff a set amount of paid time off work per year; however, more businesses are adopting a more flexible attitude towards employee vacation allowance in recent years. So in order to impress them, you should give them something that will prove to the m that you are not only educated but that you have accomplished a lot in the past few years.The main goal of the senior year is to get a decent GPA and get into the best school that you can find. This will allow you to get into a great college or university that will offer you the best possible education. When you go to school to get an education, you should also be able to take care of yourself, so that you will not have to rely on anyone else. If you show the college graduate in the resume that you are self-sufficient, then you will have an advantage over your competition.Make sure that you list any job you have had and any awards or recognitions that you may have won for this past year. There is nothing wrong with having some sort of recognition for accomplishments in the past, but remember that this is your first try at getting a job after graduation. Of course, you can't just list all of your achievements, you also need to come up with ways that you were able to make your important accomplishments happen. For example, you may have won an award, gotten a job or learned something that led to you achieving the goals you set for yourself. The key is to make it sound like you were just lucky and did not spend a lot of time working hard to get where you are today.Writing a resume for college graduates is a lot like writing a cover letter for someone else. You want to make sure that you have a professional sounding letter, but at the same time, you also want to make sure that you are being honest. You don't want to look like you are trying to scam the person you are sending the letter to, but you also don't want to seem like you are giving too much away either.These are all things that you should spend some time researching before you write your resume. Writing a resume for college graduates will take some time, but you can certainly b enefit from a well-written one if you can stick to a schedule. It should also tell the employer that the applicant is active and passionate about his/her job and that he/she is willing to go the extra mile for his/her employer.There are some cases where a current activity in resume is not acceptable. It is usually considered to be an improper use of resume to include information that might not be relevant to the position the applicant is applying for. For example, a resume could contain information regarding hobbies, games, sports, trips and other activities. This information may not be pertinent to the particular position.In addition, such information might be incorrect and therefore does not contribute anything to the resume. For example, the person applying for sales positions may be a sports fan but the sales position does not have a sales department. Therefor e, such information could not be included in a resume.Writing a current activity in resume can also be problematic if it contains false information. This type of information can also be detrimental to the employer's cause. Thus, it is advised that even if the information is true, it should be left out.A resume should also be used as a tool to add uniqueness and individuality to the application. The applicant must therefore also be creative in the way they present his/her resume. They should make sure that the resume is informative and pertinent to the job that needs to be filled.The employer should also be able to communicate with the applicant because of the current activity in resume. Since the resume is a detailed and well-written document, it should reflect the applicant's personality. This should also be evident in how the applicant addresses the employer.A recent trend in using resumes as a marketing tool is called 'social networking' in which the applicant is submitting their resume on an online site. The company pays the applicant by advertising on the resume and thus, the job seeker can use social networking to market themselves. Death and music - The Chief Happiness Officer Blog The New York Times profiles Frank Minyard, a 76-year old New Orleans coroner known for marching in funeral processions wearing a white suit and plays jazz the trumpet. At 76, on the brink of a retirement that was supposed to combine oyster dinners at his favorite restaurants with a simple life on his cattle farm on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, Dr. Minyard has found himself living in an R.V. on the grounds of a temporary federal morgue in St. Gabriel, a small town just outside Baton Rouge, grappling with the still-increasing death toll, the bewildering red tape and the urgent calls of bereaved families. In the kind of twist that might strike New Orleanians as perfectly natural, their coroner began his medical career as an obstetrician. Before that, he was a tall, blue-eyed pretty boy: a lifeguard in the summers and, once, second runner-up in a Mr. New Orleans bodybuilding contest. During medical school, he said, he spent his summers in New York City giving nightlife tours. By the late 1960s, Dr. Minyard had a successful practice, a family, a tennis court and a swimming pool, beside which he was sitting one day when he heard Peggy Lee singing, Is that all there is? Prior to that I was very selfish, like most young doctors and lawyers and dentists, said Dr. Minyard, who gave up his private medical practice soon after he became coroner. I was just trying to get the Cadillac and the country club membership. However inexpert his playing, Dr. Minyard became devoted to jazz, and soon he was sitting in with the venerated Olympia Brass Band and hiring musicians as morgue assistants to help them make ends meet.
